I've been working on a fun printable Valentine I plan on sharing Monday! But for anyone working on Valentine boxes this weekend, I wanted to stop and share an easy way to craft up the cutest hippo box I made for Fiskars.
Crafted from two household boxes you likely have in your recycling box already, this cute guy comes together quickly. View my full tutorial here.

Oops, I blinked. And now it's a few days away from 2014! Do you remember that show, Small Wonder I think it was, that had the girl who could put her two index fingers together to stop time? That ... would be awesome.
But back in the real world, I have to face facts that time keeps moving at a rapid pace. And thus, it's time to think about New Year's Eve! Today I am sharing ideas for a DIY party over at Fiskars like this confetti banner ...
I'm sure I'm not the only one who needs to be thrifty this holiday season, so I wanted to share some gift bags for teachers I made for Fiskars using inexpensive white lunch bags and paper scraps.
It's wonderful to not only get creative with your crafting tools, but to get the kids involved in making gifts. These can be filled with handmade cards and thank you notes, small treats, cocoa, gift cards, anything!
And of course each bag is completed with a punny sentiment =). You can find the full photos and tutorials here.
And be sure to check out all of my previous teacher gift ideas here.
I think my calendar might be broken ... it's saying Thanksgiving is this week. When did that happen?? Next think you know they'll be saying it's almost Christmas!
I have some fun ideas to share over at Fiskars for putting together a cute and fun kids table for Thanksgiving. You can view the full tutorial and photos here.
Snacks become decorations when displayed in these gobble boxes...
And each kid can feel special with their own seat.
And some fun decorations (like this corn paper chain garland) kids can help make before the big day even arrives! The full tutorial and photos can be viewed right here.

And for lots of gorgeous fall and winter inspiration, be sure to pick up the current issue of Make it Yourself magazine. It's a great issue including some fun projects I designed from a fall gathering to gift ideas to an advent calendar.
